Sports Funding

Annually the schools receive funding to support the development of PE and sport activities that are sustainable. It is the Federation’s intention to create a legacy of sporting excellence through participation in St. Bart’s sporting events and through local sporting opportunities. Across the federation CPD opportunities are provided and an investment is made in training and resources to ensure high quality provision continues into the future. At Weston Junior Academy a dig deep trail has been created within the school grounds and at Weston Infant Academy there are plans to further develop the trim trail.

In Year 6 89.2% of pupils have met the national curriculum requirement to swim competently confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25m using a range of different stroke effectively and performing safe self-rescue in different water based situations. All children in Year 4 attend swimming lessons weekly and where required children in Year 5 and 6 attend top up sessions to ensure that they meet end of Key Stage 2 requirements.
