Phonics and Reading Schemes

At Weston Infant Academy in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, we use “Letters and Sounds: Principles and Practice of High Quality Phonics”. To enhance reading we use Accelerated Reader which children begin to use in Year 1. We use a reading band system to ensure that all children are exposed to a wide range of reading schemes to ensure variety.
